Christmas Card. Boom.

Dec 13

Christmas Card. Boom.

I love Christmas cards.  December mail is the highlight of the mail year.  We tape the cards up on our pantry doors in the kitchen.  We marvel over growth, coo over cuteness, and giggle over the jokesters.  I take a picture of the card and assign it to the sender’s phone number in my phone so that when my friend from faraway calls me in July, I see her sweet family smiling at me from her Christmas card… such a great way to make them last all year.

This year, Christmas cards are swiped off the list because, you know, major surgery in about eighty hours.  I’m pretty sure I haven’t sent out cards the last two or three (or four?) years either.  Next year I should pretty much plan on starting my Christmas cards at the time of my birthday (August) and then I might have a better shot.  Note to self.

And thank you to all of you who still send us a card and don’t do the whole get-one-give-one thing. You make my December.  🙂  You’re on my list.  I may never do anything with that list, but at least you’re on one Nice List this season.  Ha!

Ta da!  Here ya go: it’s the Anderson Family Christmas card 2014.

It’s our most recent family photo, taken at Thanksgiving.  It’s a low quality picture, but it’s us.  We love each other.  We’re happy.  We’re wearing bolo ties and strange jewelry because our family is both quirky and awesome.  I’m obviously a super mom because my kids are in matching dresses.  My hair is long enough that I’m wearing a headband and it’s longer than Brad’s again.  2014 has been an epic year which I affectionately refer to as Vacation Palooza 2014.  Our crazy fun hectic days start and end with thanking God for our blessings, of which there are many.

Do Today Well

Love,

Jen, Brad, Maren & Greta

Been thinking of you and your beautiful family a lot this week. I’ll be sending you lots of positive energy on Tuesday…good luck with the surgery. You are one of the strongest people I know, Jen 🙂 hugs to you!

  2. I love the phone image idea!
Our picture this year is going to be one taken in June (back when I thought I’d get them mailed out right after Thanksgiving).
Healing thoughts being send your way ahead of surgery, just to get those good cells and tissues lined up. 🙂

BTW, Jen, I have a friend who had her upper right lobe removed. She’s fully recovered, works out at the gym, and is lovin’ life. You keep believing…I’ll keep praying.
