Warriors: Pray!

Nov 06

I’ve been busy checking off my to do list so that I can “disappear” for six weeks while I heal from this surgery.  I wrote a letter to my girls, I’ve prayed/prayed/prayed, I’ve cleaned, written notes to teachers, organized, shopped, and we’re about as good as we’re going to get over here.  SuperGramma arrives today and surgery is tomorrow!  Game on!

I got a call from my surgeon’s office, and my surgery has been moved to 3pm, with a 1pm arrival.  (And still no eating/drinking after midnight–ayayay!)  The OR is booked for 2-1/2 hours, so will end at 5:30ish, with an emphasis on the ISH.  Brad says he’ll blog updates, and you can count on me to pick up as soon as I’m able.  We really appreciate your specific prayers.

  • NO CANCER
  • surgery is smooth; staff is superior
  • safe/happy/secure/love for the girls while we are apart
  • strength for SuperGramma
  • blessing over Brad to handle all of it
  • peace for all who know me and love me
  • love for my parents as I move back in to their house after my surgery

For the past three weeks I’ve been praying that God’s finger would go before the surgeon’s tools to target that spot on my lung.

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. — Deuteronomy 31:8

Thank you so much for your prayers and well wishes.  I appreciate them more than you know.  I’ll be reading messages/comments/emails/texts and soaking up the love!  If you want to help in a tangible way, please contact our beloved help coordinators at help4andersons(at)gmail(dot)com

I now have a six hour delay in the timing of surgery (my previous surgery was to be at 7:30am, with a 5:30am arrival).  It means I can have breakfast with Maren and put her on the bus to school.  I can do something fun with Greta and revel in her spunk for one more morning.  I think this is just what the doctor ordered.

Joy!  Hope!  Peace!  Life!  These things abound here today.  Do Today Well.

Love how you see the blessing in ALL things. Prayed for your memory making day yesterday and prayers today for God to go before the docs even in hat extra time tomorrow am and for utter delight in those extra moments with your girls tomorrow am. You are living proof that peace can trump even the most challenging of circumstances. I am awed by how you are answering “who do you say that I AM?”. Your story says God is only good and always good. I love that in you. Praying praying praying…

All our positive healing thoughts are with you and your whole family! I’ve been through what you are going through and I’m still here fighting the fight 7 and 20 years later!

  21. Jen, your surgery was delayed for only the best of reasons…it gives us (the warriors) just that much more time to send buckets of positive energy to you and it allows you one more morning to be “normal mom” to your precious bundles of joy. All is good. Tonight I will definitely concentrate of praying that your surgeon opens you up tomorrow only to find God was there first! ♥ peggy (breath in calmness; breath out worry)
